Mainframe Developer ( 10 plus years )
Location: Wilmington, DE (Weekly 5 days office is Must)
Duration: Contract
Note: We need strong experience in IMS Background, if not resume will not be considered.
Job Description:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 5+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA working with IBM DB2 and IMS on z/OS. Strong experience with tools such as DB2 Utilities (REORG, LOAD, RUNSTATS, COPY), IMS utilities, and Tivoli OMEGAMON. Proficiency in JCL, TSO/ISPF, and other z/OS mainframe tools. Solid understanding of relational database theory, storage structures, and performance tuning. Experience with disaster recovery planning, data replication, and high availability strategies. Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Administer and maintain DB2 for z/OS and IMS (DB/DC) databases to ensure high availability and performance. Install, configure, upgrade, and patch DB2 and IMS environments. Perform database design, physical data modeling, and schema management for new and existing applications. Monitor and tune database performance; proactively resolve issues related to memory, locking, and storage. Perform backups, restores, and recovery using IBM utilities and job control language (JCL). Ensure data integrity, enforce standards, and apply security controls in accordance with compliance and governance requirements. Support development teams with SQL optimization, application deployment, and problem resolution. Develop and maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and runbooks. Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24x7 support for production database environments as needed. Collaborate with system programmers, storage administrators, and application developers on cross-functional projects Develop and maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and runbooks.
