Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring an Academic Dean at Empowerment’s High School, focusing on Math, Science, and the general STEM field. This is a 12-month leadership position for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond.
Position Details
Base Salary:
$100,000-$135,000
Hours:
7:15am-3:45pm (with some later nights)
About the School Empowerment Academy is a dynamic charter school supporting diverse students across Jersey City, Hoboken, and NYC. It serves grades K-11 in 2025-26, with plans to expand to K-12 by 2026-27. The school values closing the achievement gap and providing quality education.
Position Responsibilities
Participate in K-12 instructional leadership as part of the school team.
Assist in teacher hiring, induction, and certification oversight.
Lead teacher professional development, coaching, and evaluation.
Coach Grade Level “Head Teachers” or Department Chairs in Data Analysis and PLC leadership.
Meet with parents/guardians as needed.
Engage in professional development, including reading specified educational texts.
Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years teaching experience in STEM.
Experience in high-performing charter or public schools.
Experience working with diverse student populations.
Strong skills in teacher development and data analysis.
Valid NJ teaching license, preferably in Math or Science; Principal certification is a bonus.
