Overview
The Accountant will be responsible for completing reconciliations for several critical processes that impact the Treasurer’s Office and other university departments (Cash Management, University Accounting, Parking, Health Center, Campus Enterprises, Housing, Registrar’s Financial Aid, etc.).
Additionally, the Accountant will assist with creating ad hoc reports to be used by Treasurer’s Office Management Team, the Division of Business and Finance, and internal and external auditors.
The Accountant will run daily reports while also serving as secondary support for critical Treasurer’s Office processes.
The Accountant will manage Treasurer’s Office inventory of data, and assist the Assistant Treasurer with Payment Card Industry ( PCI ) Compliance procedures.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The University Treasurer’s Office is organized as a unit of the Division of Business & Finance with direct reporting responsibilities to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Business & Finance/Comptroller. The University Treasurer’s Office has the functional responsibilities for the following operations: cash receipting and control; student accounts receivable; accounting for Foundation housing payables; student accounts billing and student fees transfers; financial reporting; maintaining banking relationships; endowment Investments and Banner Student A/R
Requirements:
Graduation from a four year college or university with a related degree to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institution.
Preferred:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant accounting/audition/budgetary experience in the preparation of interpretive or analytical accounting/financial statements and reports.

This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. N.C. A&T employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
