Position Summary: Audits, balances, and reports on various hotel areas (e.g., food and beverage, rooms, front desk, gift shop) to provide accurate and timely financial information on the hotel’s operational performance. Oversees front office/front desk operations during the overnight shift.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure all charges for billing are proper, supported, and with approved credit.
- Ensure account cards have complete and accurate information.
- Balance daily transfers to city ledger and update accounts receivable system.
- Assist in preparing correspondence for disputed accounts.
- Process payments received.
- Verify correct billing amounts.
- Familiarity with hotel front desk cashiering and accounts receivable procedures.
- Post charges, rebates, and cash to ledger accounts.
- Print agent and accounts receivable control reports.
- Compile monthly age analysis reports.
- Ensure timely billing of accounts.
- Maintain filing system for receivable records.
- Handle correspondence and queries regarding accounts.
- Assist in account reconciliation and resolve queries.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team development.
Qualifications and Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in night auditing/accounting or equivalent training required.
- Knowledge of Excel and basic arithmetic skills required.
- FSD certification is a plus, required within 90 days of employment.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift files/papers up to 5 lbs. frequently; lift luggage up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms regularly.
Other Requirements:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions.
- Basic math and computer skills, including Excel.
- Ability to follow checklists and written directions.
- Work graveyard shift with minimal supervision.
- Learn hotel services, facilities, and multi-line phone system.
- Courteous guest and phone etiquette.
- Multitasking and customer objection handling skills.
- Maintain professional appearance and positive attitude.
