Job Description
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage firewalls, switches and access points with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security.
- Scan Wifi spectrum, map out locations and tune access points as needed based on heat maps, radio interference, etc.
- Conduct detailed network analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal network operation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network infrastructure in offices, at customer sites and on bots.
- Implement and maintain networking monitoring, logging and alerting multiple sites
- Implement and manage IDP/IDS solutions.
- Manage and maintain multiple ISP connections for corporate and customer locations.
- Conduct regular network maintenance, including updating software and hardware.
- Document network configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Assist with incident response for network issues, providing troubleshooting and resolution.
- Assist with engineering and product development teams for on bot networking.
- Travel to customer sites for setup and deployment of ISP’s and network hardware.
- Build and test DIY router hardware for specific use cases unique to our products.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years of experience in network engineering in medium to large scale networks.
- Deep understanding of routing protocols.
- Be part of the on-call team for network outage response.
- Experience with Firewalls, tunneling protocols (IPSEC, GRE), and advanced Layer 2 protocols (Spanning Tree, LACP, HSRP, MPLS).
- Experience with switches, firewalls & access points from at least one of the following brands: Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, Mikrotik, Arista, Ruckus, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, Palo Alto.
- Proven track record of designing, deploying and managing multi-site small to large scale network deployments and troubleshooting complex network issues.
- Experience with network security practices, tools, and protocols.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- At least one relevant certification such as Network+, JNCIE, CCNP, or CCIE.
- Must have advanced knowledge and experience with DHCP, DNS, LDAP, OSI Model, SSH.
- Experience with multiple VPN types - Wireguard, OpenVPN, ZeroTier, GlobalProtect, IPSec, L2TP.
- Write, manage and maintain documentation for all related systems.
- Ability to develop scripts to automate infrastructure deployment and management.
- Deploy network monitoring and graphing tools.
- Build and maintain a PXE boot environment for mass OS installs on single board computers.
- Operating a scissor lift for installing network equipment in IDF’s and on ceiling and/or trusses.
- Occasionally running cat6 and/or fiber cables in ceilings, walls and wire trays.
- Must be comfortable, on occasion, working in hot non-airconditioned and/or cold refrigerated environments for extended periods of time.
