Community Technology Empowerment Project
Since 2004, CTEP has mobilized over 500 AmeriCorps members to teach basic digital literacy skills to nearly 55,000 low-income adults and youth, empowering them to navigate technology confidently, allowing them to access information, communicate effectively, manage their digital presence, and make informed decisions in today's tech-driven world. CTEP AmeriCorps anticipates placing 20 members with 18 nonprofit organizations and libraries in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Member Duties : * Using the Nationally recognized Northstar Digital Literacy Curriculum, teach basic technology skills (e.g. send email, create documents, navigate the internet, use a smartphone) to learners in a classroom setting or one-on-one. * Assess and prepare interested learners to be certified in the Northstar Digital Literacy standards, Microsoft Office Specialist, or Google Suite. *Proctor online testing. *Develop additional curriculum based on learner needs * Collect and report learner performance data * Help strengthen technology programming through guided research and program development * Help identify volunteers for your host site or help manage existing volunteers.
