Arch Amenities Group, the world's leading spa, fitness and leisure firm, is seeking an Aquatics Director. The Aquatics Director will be responsible for providing leadership in the development, coordination, planning, administration and supervision of all aquatic facilities and programming.

Responsibilities:
Ensures the “Arch Amenities Group Experience” for guests by maintaining the standards set in Arch Amenities Group Basics to Excellence (BTE), Arch Amenities Group Mission Statement/Values; Standards and Expectations, and Arch Amenities Group Brand Standards.
Adheres to policies of Arch Amenities Group.
The Aquatics Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the aquatics department, including swim instruction, team programming, staff management, and budget performance. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills to ensure high-quality aquatic programming and a positive experience for members and staff.
Instructors may teach group and/or private swim lessons, not to exceed 15 hours per week—including any coaching duties with BWST. This provides an opportunity to earn additional compensation. Additional coaching opportunities may be considered after a three-month evaluation period.
Administrative & Financial Oversight:
Complete payroll twice a month, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Regularly review timecards and payroll sheets for staff.
Manage income and expense budgets to meet AAG’s monthly NOI targets.
Prepare monthly board reports as requested by the General Manager.
Attend weekly Department Head meetings to collaborate with leadership.
Oversee registration and billing for Frozen Jets.
Staff Leadership & Development:
Host quarterly all-staff meetings for training and development of group and private swim instructors.
Is the main point of contact for all aquatics staff members.
Conduct weekly structured meetings with the Assistant Aquatics Director to review programming, staffing concerns, and operational updates.
Oversee and manage group and private swim instructors, ensuring compliance with AAG performance, training, and development standards.
Keep staff informed of any policy or communication updates as directed by the General Manager.
Serve as the acting Assistant Aquatics Director in their absence.
Swim Team & Coaching Support:
Hold weekly meetings with the BWST Head Coach to discuss team plans, meets, and any issues (with increased frequency at the start of the role).
Collaborate with the BWST Head Coach to assist with administrative needs and host a monthly coaches' meeting.
Assist in managing Aqua Jets Swim Team, supporting operations as needed.
Attend the majority, if not all, of Aqua Jets' meets.
Program Development & Customer Engagement:
Market, plan, and implement group swim evaluations at least 4 times per year.
Respond to customer inquiries and concerns via Ashburn Village email within 48 business hours.
Provide updates to the Front Desk Director regarding new or revised programs and policies to keep front line staff informed.
Event & Facility Support:
Assist with facility-wide events, including:
Fiesta 5K/10K
VillageFest
Kids Triathlon
Qualifications:
Proven experience in aquatics management, coaching, or swim instruction.
Strong leadership and staff management experience.
Ability to oversee budgeting, payroll, and program development.
Strong organizational and customer service skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in the area of Physical Education, Exercise Science, Health Education or related field.
Minimum of one-year experience in an aquatics related management position.
Certified as a lifeguard, pool operator, CPR, and First Aid (WSI and/or LGI certification preferred).
Excellent communication skills. Must have excellent oral communication skills to work positively with different populations, in groups and individually.

Availability When Facility Is Open: This could include nights, weekends, and holidays.
This position requires that the Aquatics Director be able to swim well enough to maintain current lifeguard certification and in physical shape to perform lifeguarding duties.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to a negligible pounds of force frequently to move objects.
This position required the ability to climb, balance, kneel, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, and lift.
This position will require the following physical requirements: seeing, hearing and talking.
This position may require exposure to chemical hazards.
The position may require exposure to extreme weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain.
The position will be required to use the following equipment: computer, calculator and copying machine.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
