Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant

Job Summary:

Southwestern Oklahoma State University Strength & Conditioning Program is seeking a qualified individual for a graduate assistant to help in all phases of a successful strength and conditioning program. This Graduate Assistant will gain essential work and educational experience needed to obtain full-time employment in their chosen field. These tasks are to be performed in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Description of Job Duties:

1. Designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for all assigned teams
2. Assist with implementation of training programs for all athletic teams
3. Stay in constant communication with Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Head Coaches of assigned sport teams, and Athletic Training Staff of assigned teams

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Designing a facility maintenance program
2. Updating social media sites
3. Daily weight room upkeep
4. Advising interns

Terms of Employment:

1. Employment at will
2. Reports to Strength & Conditioning Head Coach
3. Safety and job-related trainings will be completed as instructed
4. Eligible to receive a tuition waiver each semester
5. Graduate Assistant must maintain a minimum of 2.50 GPA and be enrolled in at least 5 hours of classes for the fall and spring semesters
6. A Graduate Assistant should be working at a level higher than an undergraduate student employee. For example: teaching/instructing undergraduates in or out of the classroom as assigned, critiquing/grading undergraduate work/skills, etc.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree completed; enrolled in graduate program and working in field of study.
