Associate Tax Attorney
to join our dynamic legal team. Position Overview: The Associate Tax Attorney will focus on
tax controversy matters , representing clients in disputes with the IRS and state tax authorities. The ideal candidate will have strong legal research and analytical skills, excellent written and oral advocacy abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple client matters in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Represent clients in IRS and state tax audits, appeals, and litigation. Draft legal memoranda, motions, and correspondence related to tax disputes. Prepare and negotiate Offers in Compromise, Installment Agreements, and other tax resolution strategies. Advocate for clients in U.S. Tax Court and administrative proceedings. Assist with penalty abatements, innocent spouse relief, and trust fund recovery penalty cases. Conduct legal research and stay updated on tax laws and regulations. Provide strategic advice on tax compliance and risk mitigation for individuals and businesses. Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, and colleagues. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.)
from an accredited law school. Active membership in the Maryland Bar (Required) ; additional state bars a plus. Preferred:
LL.M. in Taxation or CPA certification. Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to manage multiple client matters in a deadline-driven environment. Prior experience in tax law, tax controversy, or IRS dispute resolution is a plus.
