Position Overview The Power Solutions Engineer (PSE) drives increased specification, compliance, and acceptance by building relationships with engineering firms, general and electrical contractors, and end users focusing on data center, education, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors. The PSE leverages all vendor solutions including micro-grid controllers, large node UPS, standby power generation, energy storage, solar, EV charging, and asset management to expand market participation and quote rate. The PSE creates value by differentiating product and service solutions and organizational capabilities from competitors, positively influences specifications for bids, and develops competitive proposals. Knowledge of UPS systems, batteries, generators, power distribution equipment, and transfer switches, along with a keen technical and commercial aptitude, is essential.
Reporting Relationship The Power Solutions Engineer reports to the Vice President, Sales AC Power and Generation.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Engage consistently with engineers, contractors, and end-users to build relationships and expand market presence.
Identify and develop relationships with customers across the designated territory.
Prospect for new leads and customer contacts.
Improve key sales metrics such as market participation, quotation velocity, specification rate, acceptance, and win rate for large projects.
Become a subject matter expert on all new products and applications, focusing on Generac and Eaton.
Deliver accredited training for engineers, both virtually and in person.
Attend conferences and tradeshows to enhance brand awareness.
Read plans and specifications to properly configure solutions.
Collaborate with the sales team and participate in industry groups.
Develop key supplier relationships for technical, commercial, and service support.
Participate in team meetings and develop business objectives, sales, and marketing plans.
Utilize all IT resources and vendor applications.
Support customer visits with sales and vendor management when practical.
Maintain records, manage receipts, and expense reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Education and Experience
4-year degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
At least 5 years of proven experience in technical sales or applications engineering.
Travel Expectations
Extensive travel required, approximately 50% of the time.

Additional Details
Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 per year.
