Job Title: Biomedical Equipment Technician
Location: West Bend, WI and Menomonee Falls, WI
Duration: 4+ Months
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week, No Weekends, No On Call
Rate: $50 to $55/hr on W2
Job Summary:
- Under guidance and/or supervision, the responsibilities include assisting or performing installation, calibration, inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair of basic patient care equipment such as patient monitoring, surgical devices, infusion devices, other basic diagnostic/therapeutic equipment and other related technical equipment.
- Promote a team dynamic through effective departmental communication and inclusive discussion.
- Utilize familiarity with medical technology and knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and IT networking systems to support basic medical devices.
- Troubleshoot problems, use critical thinking skills, and respond to support requests with appropriate urgency.
- Perform inspection, preventative maintenance, and electrical safety checks; review and recommend changes to maintenance schedules or procedures.
- Work is performed and documented per the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
- Participate in new system or functionality testing, cost-reduction activities, and technology utilization improvements.
- Provide consultation and guidance to customers on the use of medical equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Familiarity with medical technology
- Knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Three years of related experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment
- Specialized training in medical technology service and support
- Skills to repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect basic patient care equipment such as patient monitoring, surgical devices, infusion devices, basic diagnostic/therapeutic equipment
Education:
- Associate’s degree in biomedical or electrical technology OR
- Military training in Biomedical or Electrical Technology OR Two (2) years of Biomedical or Electrical Technology experience
Licensure & Certifications:
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license – Required
