GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Granite Falls Unit Director and the BGCSC Director of Athletics, Granite Falls Athletic Director plans, organizes, coordinates, supervises and conducts sports, fitness and recreation activities for the Club.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Is personally involved in planning and implementing the Boys & Girls Club's five core areas on a daily basis. Establish a program setting that ensures the health and safety of Club members and staff. Contribute to the positive creation of the Club's climate for youth development. Provide behavioral guidance services to Club members. Promote and market all Boys & Girls Club athletic programs to members and their families to increase membership and daily attendance. Manage the "Formula for Impact" process to ensure priority outcomes. Coordinate all youth sports for the Club and grant goals. Develop a purchasing system for sports equipment. Reserve field & gym times in a cost effective and timely manner for all club sports. Develop training materials, clinics, rules/guidelines and handbooks for coaches and staff. Organize the sports sign-ups, league schedules and participant fees. Obtain local sponsorship donations. Help with other Club duties as assigned by the Unit Director and Athletic Administrator. QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree preferred or equivalent work experience to perform the essential job functions. Must have the ability to work occasional weekday evenings and Saturdays. External applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check to be considered for employment. All applicants must be at least 23 years old and have a driving record that allows them to be covered on our vehicle insurance policy.
