DATA ENTRY/PHONES : Primary duties will include registration card entry, vote-by-mail verification, answering phones, and proofing candidate statements and ballot information to ensure translation is correct from English to: Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese Mandarin, Chinese Cantonese, or Tagalog. Strong customer service skills are required. Strong bilingual reading, writing, proofing, and speaking ability skills are required. Candidates must be proficient in their respective language and proficient in English, speaking and writing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience : Customer service experience that involved meeting the public, obtaining and recording factual information, or explaining rules, regulations, policies/procedures,
AND
must be bilingual in one of the following languages:
Korean Vietnamese Chinese Mandarin Chinese Cantonese Tagalog Knowledge: Perform routine clerical work; learn office practices, procedures and equipment; make simple arithmetic calculations; understand and follow written and oral instructions; establish and maintain cooperative relations with the public.
Ability to: Perform general clerical work; Understand and follow both written and oral instructions as well as established policies and procedures; Perform non-sedentary duties; Regularly lift over 25 pounds; Work in a fast-paced environment License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver's License may be required. Testing Requirements: Bilingual Proficiency: Candidates whose applications indicate bilingual proficiency in one of the following languages: Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese Mandarin, Chinese Cantonese, or Tagalog will be required to verify their bilingual skills in a proctored test environment.
