At OHP, we are passionate about changing the lives of our community’s children by ensuring they have access to high-quality oral health care. As we continue to grow and serve our community, we are seeking a Bilingual Front Desk Patient Coordinator to join our dedicated team.
Position Summary
We are looking for a Bilingual Front Desk Patient Coordinator who will be the welcoming face of our clinics and a vital link between our care team and patient families. This role supports multi-lingual families (including, but not limited to, English, Spanish, Hmong, Somali, etc.) with check-in, scheduling, recordkeeping, and communication. If you’re customer-focused, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping children get the dental care they need, we’d love to meet you.
Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction & Communication
Greet and check in patients, ensuring parent or guardian presence.
Ask screening questions and assist with form completion.
Provide in-person and over-the-phone translation (English/Spanish).
Answer calls and assist with inquiries.
Communicate with parents and schools regarding appointments or paperwork.
Scheduling & Patient Flow
Schedule appointments for routine, operative, and follow-up visits.
Maintain a full and efficient daily schedule.
Support recall efforts and case management for incomplete treatment plans.
Reschedule or cancel appointments as needed.
Administrative & Clinical Support
Create and update patient records including medical history, demographics, and insurance.
Scan and upload documents into the patient’s digital file.
Prepare treatment consents, health forms, and prescriptions.
Verify insurance eligibility using ForwardHealth or other systems.
Open the clinic and prepare for daily operations.
Technology Use
Use tools such as Dentrix, ForwardHealth, Connecteam, NexHealth, and Microsoft Office suite to manage patient data and scheduling.
Use translation tools such as tablets and Language Line.
Enter relevant patient notes such as Frankl scores and medical alerts.
Qualifications:
Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
1 year of customer service experience (healthcare or dental preferred)
Strong communication and data entry skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, child-centered environment
Familiarity with dental software (Dentrix) is a plus
Must be flexible with working at different locations as business needs arise
