Elderwood at Williamsville is seeking a full-time Billing Office Assistant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a healthcare business office setting, with knowledge of third-party payers, census management, private pay collections, and the Medicaid application process.
Billing Office Assistant - Position Overview:
- Supports the Business Office Coordinator and daily operations by managing resident accounts, billing, collections, and processing transactions such as petty cash and accounts receivable.
- Assists the Business Office Manager with general office duties.
- Handles physician and pharmacy billing, monitors Medicaid applications, answers phones, and maintains departmental correspondence and reports.

Responsibilities
Business Office Assistant:
- Enters new admits and updates MCR/INS logs weekly
- Attends morning reports and rehab meetings
- Prepares admission documents and manages resident banking statements
- Reconciles RFMS and enters ancillary charges
- Completes insurance verification forms
- Performs filing, scanning, and manages transactions and resident trust checks
- Supports special projects and handles mail and cash boxes
Qualifications
Business Office Assistant:
- Minimum one year of Accounts Receivable experience
- Knowledge of Medicare A and B, Medicaid, and third-party insurance
- Long Term Care experience preferred
- High school diploma with business training; proficiency in Excel is a plus
This role requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, and the ability to communicate effectively in English at an intermediate or higher level.
