About Boone County Sheriff's Office

The Boone County Sheriff's Office is a top-tier law enforcement organization, the only Sheriff's Office in Missouri with two national accreditations from CALEA and NIJO.

We are dedicated to serving our community professionally and supporting law enforcement training and development, including operating the local law enforcement training academy and developing a new Regional Training Center opening in late 2025. We are also developing a childcare center for staff, opening in 2026.

Position Details

• Responsibilities: Custody of physical evidence, maintaining chain of custody, collecting, transporting, storing, releasing, and disposing of evidence and personal property.
• Status: Full-time, non-exempt, benefited
• Working hours: Primarily 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday
• Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, age 21+, passing FBI background check, valid Missouri driver’s license, typing 35 wpm, good vision, hearing, and speech abilities.
• Preferred Qualifications: At least 2 years relevant clerical experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Starting Hourly Pay: $18.24
