Job Description The Supervising Planner – Transportation will be a highly experienced and motivated technically proficient big thinker who is detail-oriented, cutting-edge, creative and thoughtful. They will demonstrate a deep understanding of federal, state, and regional transportation funding policies; working relationships between the County, municipal partners, and other public and private stakeholders; and current trends and best practices for the planning and implementation of transportation infrastructure and policy across multiple transportation modes to address the safe, equitable, and efficient movement of people and goods. The Supervising Planner - Transportation will be responsible for the implementation of the County’s long-term vision for infrastructure investment, transportation and mobility; external relationship building with federal, state, regional local agencies; internal relationship building within the county organization and the Middlesex County Department of Transportation; and oversight of transportation and mobility planning staff and consultants. They should be experienced in project management, supervising staff and be familiar with Complete Streets, Vision Zero and FHWA transportation safety planning best practices. Qualifications This position requires a master’s degree in planning or a related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in transportation planning, with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity. A license as a Professional Planner, issued by the New Jersey State Board of Professional Planners, is required. AICP certification is preferred. Middlesex County resident preferred. The anticipated starting base pay for this position is $ 110,725 - $ 120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. For a full job description and to apply, please visit:
