Join to apply for the CDL Class A - Tractor Trailer role at GFL Environmental Inc. Pay: $25-27/hour, depending on experience The Tractor Trailer Driver will operate tractor-trailer trucks on assigned routes to service customers safely and efficiently. The role involves delivering solid waste or recyclables to landfills, MRFs, or transfer stations. Key Responsibilities: Operate tractor-trailer trucks and hydraulic systems on assigned routes. Ensure loads are secure, tarp is properly closed, and no loose trash is visible. Empty trailer contents properly when dumping loads. Provide trailer number, load details, and net weight to CSR after dumping. Complete safety inspections, reports, route sheets, and other documentation daily. Report mechanical issues immediately. Maintain route quality standards and operate vehicles using prescribed techniques. Follow all safety standards, regulations, and company policies. Keep the vehicle clean and report accidents or incidents promptly. Maintain professional demeanor and appearance. Keep accurate service records and work with supervisors to improve efficiency. Attend safety and branch meetings. Perform other duties as assigned and work overtime if required. Requirements: High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid Commercial Driver's License. At least one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate. Meet safety-sensitive function criteria. Ability to safely operate the truck and equipment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of truck components and basic maintenance. Ability to maneuver the truck in tight spaces. Recognize unacceptable waste materials. Effective communication skills. Ability to read, write, and follow instructions. Flexibility and commitment to continuous improvement. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform related tasks. Knowledge of air brakes and vehicle weight capacities. Physical and Mental Demands: Ability to perform various physical activities and visual requirements. Lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally. Sitting for most of the workday due to driving. Work in loud and outdoor environments, often in extreme weather. Working Conditions: Exposure to noise, weather, chemicals, and traffic. Work primarily outdoors, often away from the branch.
