Overview
The City needs you to ensure that all professional electrical engineering work for water systems, and construction work for residential and commercial buildings meet the safety standards. All you need to do is perform difficult professional engineering work in reviewing and analyzing electrical designs, plans, and specifications for adequacy and compliance with provisions of the electrical code and departmental standards; and perform other related duties as required. Simple right? Just make sure you can climb ladders, climb over, and crawl under structures with the occasional lifting and exertion for short periods as you ensure contractors have thoroughly performed all tasks to your (high) standards. Inspections may or may not be a construction site where you may be exposed to construction and traffic hazards, chemicals, noise, moving equipment, and electrical hazards such as an arc flash.
