Machinist II Location - San Diego, CA 92121 Duration - 6+ Months (Temp to Hire) Shift - 2nd Shift (2:30 PM to 11:00 PM) Qualifications: Per the Lead Machinist and Manager in the Machine shop and they stated that Manual Machining experience (Looking for 5 to 8 Years Experience) is a big positive for any candidate. Most candidates have CNC which is fine but Manual Machining is needed more for these current candidates. Specific manual machines that they would operate are: Lathes, Mills, VTL While ideally, they want someone with at least a couple years with manual machining, they would be open to someone with less experience on manual machining but still open to doing manual machining. They did mention that since manual machining is not done as often anymore it may be hard to find someone with experience, so they want someone who is comfortable learning manuals at the very least. The incumbent performs a variety of machining and manufacturing methods to fabricate and repair aerospace component parts by utilizing CNC, VTL, Milling, Lathes, etc. Must be willing to work on various tasks and activities as assigned by Leadership. High School Degree (preferred). Must be able to read, communicate and understand English per FAA requirements. Machinist Technical training (college or program) or 5-8 years using applicable machining equipment (required). erospace industry (preferred). Technical training or experience with VTL, Milling, CNC, etc. (one or more required) 2+ years or equivalent. Experience in manufacturing environments (preferred). Hand tools, manufacturing machinery and equipment. Technical training or experience with VTL, Milling, CNC, etc. (one or more required). Time management skills. Detail-oriented. bility to follow instructions. ttendance and punctuality. Responsibilities: Use equipment and tools to manufacture or repair component parts to traveler specifications. Selects appropriate machine settings and plans proper sequencing of tasks to complete the assignment. ctively participates in training and OJT work to learn and apply machining techniques. Inspect parts per traveler requirements to ensure compliance with specifications.
