Position Summary:
Transport patients to and from locations on the Craig Hospital and Swedish Medical Center campuses. Perform phlebotomy and process specimens for shipment in accordance with current policies and procedures.
Position Requirements:
Licensure/Certification/Registrations : CNA Highly preferred. Current BLS certification from the AHA is required. Education : High school diploma or GED required. Experience : One year of direct patient care/nurse assistant experience preferred. One year of phlebotomy experience preferred. Skills & Abilities : Excellent organization and customer service skills. Able to successfully handle multiple tasks of different priorities at the same time and schedule said tasks accordingly while meeting deadlines. Able to successfully and effectively communicate with a variety of personnel. Able to determine and interpret work procedures for a group of workers, assign specific duties, maintain harmonious relationships, and promote efficiency. Able to maintain a high degree of accuracy, dependability, and strong attention to detail both mechanically and technically. Able to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position. A general knowledge of extracting information from database systems is preferred. Possess above-average problem-solving skills, judgment, and flexibility. Gather, collate, and classify information about data, people, and things. Reports on and/or carries out prescribed actions in relation to the available information. Effectively communicate with people to convey or exchange information. Use bodies, tools, or special devices to work, move, guide, or place objects, people, and materials. The position involves some latitude for personal judgment with regard to selecting the appropriate tool, object, or material to be used. Immediately attend to the needs or requests of staff and patients. Essential Functions:
Provide transportation for Craig Hospital patients between SMC and Craig. Coordinate transport and patient needs with the Nursing/Respiratory Team and SMC. Transfer and pad patients to and from various surfaces in accordance with Craig Hospital policies. Observe patients during transport and report any changes or problems to the appropriate treatment team members within an appropriate timeframe. Demonstrate competence in time management, organization, setting priorities, and critical thinking by planning and organizing work assignments and prioritizing the specific needs of patients. Use bodies, tools, and special devices to safely, effectively, and efficiently move, guide, or place patients. Properly perform phlebotomy by venipuncture. Collect and process specimens as assigned while following established guidelines and using the correct equipment. Supply diagnostic notes to physicians, healthcare professionals, and hospital personnel. Demonstrate the ability to perform department procedures as outlined in the skills/training lists. Perform accurate, acceptable, and appropriate electronic documentation and computer data entry. Complete initial competency packet and maintain annual competencies. Follow hospital infection control policies including isolation protocols, proper hand hygiene, proper handling of food, PPE, and decontamination protocols. Remain knowledgeable about emergency procedures and how to enact them, if needed. Able to follow all Craig Hospital policies and protocols.

Pay Range: $18.65 / Hour - $26.86 / Hour + Shift Differential
