The MANAGER, ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL REPORTING position leads and maintains departmental financial systems, ensuring data integrity and reporting requirements are met. The position researches, advises, and implements enhancements to current processes and systems to achieve operational goals and objectives. Position seeks to maximize the organizations return on its investment in systems to support the finance and accounting department through system maintenance, feature implementation and end user training.
Position performs direct line services related to, and supervises staff assigned to, technical support and maintenance of financial systems applications, general ledger accounting, production and interpretation of financial statements and budgets, and identification, design, development, and implementation of new and/or enhanced means of accumulating, reporting, and analyzing financial data.
LOCATION
This position is part of our Finance Department, located at 6121 Montrose Road in Rockville, MD.
Main Responsibilities

• Oversee and provide operational support and training for departmental financial systems.
• Responsible for maintaining data integrity of reporting systems.
• Develop and maintain process workflows and training material for all areas of assigned responsibility.
• Research and share new features of financial systems and alternate solutions.
• Coordinate system updates and lead testing for implementation of new functionality.
• Responsible for financial systems troubleshooting.
• Oversee and ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close and reporting process.
• Supervise the production and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and analytical reports.
• Prepare and review appropriate journal entries, account reconciliations and account analysis.
• Analyze financial statements and explain variances as compared to budget and to prior periods.
• Maintain the general ledger system.
• Assist with the quarterly consolidation and annual audit.
• Lead role in developing and supporting the annual budget process.
• Lead ad hoc projects and work as part of a cross-functional team.
• Manage and develop assigned staff.
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• MUST have working knowledge and experience with accounting Software (preferably MS Dynamics- Great Plains and Management Reporter).
• Strong skills in creating/modifying reports for executives
• Budgeting
• Excellent organization, planning, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple and often changing priorities and issues of varying complexity, while meeting time-sensitive deadlines and deliverables.
• Advanced Excel skills.
  

PREFERRED:

• CPA with active status
• Healthcare experience
• Financial software implementation experience

VACCINATION POLICY
As a dedicated provider to Senior Living Care our facility requires all hired associates to provide proof of vaccination records, including two doses of MMR, two doses of Varicella, and a Negative TB screen before the start of employment. Another source of documentation that can be accepted is a Titer or Lab test that expresses proven immunity to the following diseases. Upon employment our Talent Acquisition team will provide additional details regarding CESLC vaccination policy.
