About the Role of CFM Engineer:
The CFM Engineer role is at the heart of our site operations team, driving the seamless performance of all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems supporting over 75MW of critical IT capacity around the clock. Your responsibilities will include planning and executing preventative maintenance, handling repairs, and responding swiftly to emergencies, all while working under the guidance of the CFM Chief Engineer and Facility Manager. You will also be the go-to expert for addressing general facility management tasks from building inspections to maintaining a pristine work environment.
Moreover, you'll have the opportunity to lead small-to-medium scale projects from start to finish - collaborating with external teams such as engineering, controls, logistics, and construction to bring these projects to life. Your role will include procuring quotes, drafting procedures, and ensuring all work is executed with the highest standards of safety, security, and integrity for our customers. As the primary liaison with vendors and service providers, you'll guarantee adherence to safety and environmental protocols, while ensuring 5C receives exceptional service.
About the Critical Facilities Maintenance (CFM) Team:
Critical Facilities Maintenance (CFM) is comprised of the onsite team members that maintain the power delivery, cooling and general building infrastructure on behalf of our customers ensuring that their services are available without interruption on a continuous (24/7) basis. As a member of the CFM team, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage the maintenance and repair of equipment including Electrical Switchgear, Uninterruptable Power Supplies, Transformers, Batteries, Generators, Chillers, Air Handlers, Fire/Life Safety Equipment and more! Additionally, CFM will also support 5C’s growth through support of new installations and capital projects. The CFM team will work along-side diverse team members including controls engineers, project managers, business development, logistics, construction, and security personnel to accomplish 5C’s ambitious growth strategy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 1+ years of equivalent experience in a relevant industry
-1+ years electrical or mechanical trade experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of data center engineering experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Walk job sites in uneven terrain.
- Work at heights and from ladders.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more.
- Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration.
- Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment
- Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
- Bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working
- Perform physical tasks /manual labor for long periods of time during shifts
- Use hands to manipulate small wires and objects
- Push or pull heavy objects into position
- Work in a noisy environment with using proper hearing protection
- Work at depths, such as under raised floors
WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
-The CFM Engineer role is classified as non-exempt (hourly).
-Will generally work a repeating two-week rotation comprised of three 12-hour shifts on week 1 (36 hours) followed by four 12-hour shifts on week 2 (48 hours).
-Will be asked to cover shifts on nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Will not be expected to participate in the site CFM on-call rotating schedule unless assigned as the on shift for that period.
