About UCHealth Medical Group With a world-class team of over 1750 physicians and providers, UCHealth Medical Group (UCHealthMG), the multi-specialty physician-led group practice serving UCHealth hospitals and clinics along the Front Range, provides a full continuum of medical care and the highest level of expertise. UCHealth clinics, staffed by UCHealth Medical Group physicians, are an integrated, multi-specialty physician and health system partnership. Physicians who are employed by UCHealth practice at over 50 clinics as well as hospitals along the Front Range of Colorado. This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option. Chief Operating Officer, UCHealth Medical Group This is an outstanding opportunity to join UCHealth Medical Group (UCHealthMG), a top, large multi-specialty physician led group practice owned by the UCHealth System. This position is a part of a high-performing, quality-focused senior leadership team in a results-driven, growing healthcare system. The new Chief Operating Officer (COO) must lead the vision of "From Health Care to Health" by forging strong relationships throughout our integrated health system to create an overall entity unparalleled in the United States today. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the UCHealth Medical Group leads and oversees the physician-led group serving UCHealth hospitals and clinics. This pivotal role reports directly to the President and CEO of the Medical Group and is a key member of and works collaboratively with, the senior leadership team which holds ultimate responsibility and authority for the strategic leadership, direction, and day-to-day administration of all operational areas and their related entities. The COO ensures adherence to established goals, the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered, and efficient healthcare services , and the successful management of other related business lines. This leadership is critical in upholding the system's core mission, vision, and values, always prioritizing an exceptional experience and optimal outcomes for every patient. Reporting Relationships Reports to: President and Chief Executive Officer, UCHealth Medical Group Responsibilities
- Develops, executes, tracks, and achieves operational budgets for all areas under responsibilities
- Translates organizational objectives into specific departmental strategies and actionable plans.
- Drives operational excellence and efficiency across all clinical and administrative functions to enhance patient flow and service delivery.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, encouraging teams to identify and implement best practices that elevate patient care and outcomes.
- Cultivates strong relationships with physician leaders and staff, promoting collaborative efforts to optimize patient care pathways and experiences.
- Identifies and implements solutions that streamline operations, improve data utilization, and benefit patient care and accessibility.
- Recruits, develops, and retains top talent within the medical group's operational teams, building a skilled workforce dedicated to our mission and patient-centered values.
- Creates and implements key policies and procedures that significantly influence departmental effectiveness.
- Ensures robust compliance with all healthcare regulations and quality standards, maintaining a safe and high-performing environment for both patients and staff.
- Develops, executes, and tracks operationalbudgets for all areas under responsibilities
- Ability to lead across three regions and ensure consistency and operational excellence while recognizing regional nuances and unique challenges
- Ability to partner with physician and clinical leadership to form successful dyad leadership pairings throughout the medical group
- Keep current on emerging trends and models of care throughout the industry

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements: Education/Certification
• Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management or another related field. A master's degree in business administration or healthcare administration is preferred.
• Minimum Experience: At least 5 years of senior-level operations experience in a large medical group. Abilities, Skills and Traits

• Ability to think strategically and holistically about the organization's operational objectives, challenges, and opportunities, and to align them with the organization's vision, mission, and goals.
• Develop and communicate a clear and compelling vision and strategy and translate it into actionable plans and initiatives.
• Lead and manage a team of professionals and experts and foster a collaborative and supportive work environment. The COO should be able to delegate, empower, coach and mentor their team members, and to provide them with feedback and recognition.
• Influence and collaborate with other leaders and managers across the organization and build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders.
• Have a clear systematic and structured approach to identifying and solving problems and issues, and to finding and implementing solutions that are effective and efficient.
• Understand the dynamics and implications of change, and a readiness and competence to manage and facilitate change.
• Ability to assess need and feasibility of change, plan and execute change initiatives that are aligned with the organization's quality vision and strategy
• Exhibit strong decision-making skills and appropriate sense of urgency for projects.
• Work collaboratively with the Medical Group President & Chief Executive Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and Chief Medical Officer to emphasize quality, safety, and clinical excellence in everything that we do.
