San Marino Tennis Center is nestled among the beautiful trees of Lacy Park, located in San Marino, CA. The Tennis Center runs the programs and events that are supported by the San Marino Tennis Foundation (SMTF), a non-profit corporation. The Director of Tennis advances the Foundation's mission to promote the enjoyment of tennis for Foundation members and the community by providing high quality programming for both competitive and social tennis activities and instruction. The ideal candidate must enjoy interacting with members and guests while providing a high level of customer service. Candidate will ensure all members and guests have a positive experience at the facility.
Responsibilities
- Management of all tennis instruction by organizing, promoting, and overseeing lesson programs, junior tennis, tennis leagues, group and individual programs.
- Raise awareness for and participation for club tennis programming.
- Provide on-court instruction to all skill levels and ages through individual and group lessons.
- Supervises all tennis play and proper charging of fees, and rental of equipment.
- Recruit, hire, train, and manage staff to achieve the mission of the TC.
- Organize and maintain daily teaching schedule or other uses of the courts.
- Assist in the daily maintenance and cleanliness of the tennis area. Maintain all courts in a professional manner, ensuring the environment is safe and ready for play at the start of each day.
- Enforces rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment and other property.
Qualifications
- USPTA, PTR, or other tennis coaching certifications
- 5+ years experience managing a tennis facility with multiple courts and coaches
- 8+ years’ experience teaching/coaching tennis
- USTA SafePlay approved
- Solid time management, organization and prioritization skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation and a focus on customer satisfaction is required
