Integrate safety into engineering design and cultivate a culture that prioritizes safety both in the office and on job sites. Serve as the civil engineering lead for construction design drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, and construction support. Lead civil scoping, cost estimating, and scheduling. Partner with internal teams (project management, other engineering disciplines, construction, environmental, and real estate) as well as external agencies to drive projects forward. Conduct job walks across company territory, including transmission roads, towers, substations, and other facilities. Expect to travel to job sites 1-2 days per week. Define scopes of work, review proposals, approve invoices, and oversee the quality and timeliness of contractor deliverables. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior civil engineers and support team development in the PIV office two days a week. Conduct QA/QC for peer reviews and assist in developing group standards and guidelines. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Minimum of 8 years of civil engineering/land development design experience Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Civil Engineering from a U.S. state Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating via Teams, email, and in-person meetings Proven experience supporting construction activities and working with field personnel Familiarity with agency permitting and approval processes for construction deliverables Experience mentoring junior engineers and managing multiple projects simultaneously Experience in land development design for utility roadways and transmission access roads, including work in steep rural terrains Background in civil/land development design for substation facilities Familiarity with California state and local agency permitting processes Software proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Bluebeam, and Microsoft platforms (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint) Pride Global offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
