Overview
Barton Community College seeks applications for an Instructional Specialist . This grant funded replacement position at Ellsworth Correctional Facility will work with residents of the facility providing academic assistance to eligible participants, appropriate support services for Adult Basic Education and GED students, identifying appropriate curriculum, and delivering quality classroom instruction that supports the students goals. Required qualifications: bachelor’s degree; two to five years of similar or related experience; courtesy, tact and diplomacy. Desired qualifications: previous teaching experience (higher education, K-12 or adult education preferred); ability to communicate effectively with professional personnel and with traditionally underrepresented student populations; strong organizational and accurate recordkeeping skills; and the ability to carry out job responsibilities with minimal direct supervision.
