About the Role As a Senior Firmware Development Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and integration of robust firmware solutions for our next-generation products. Your deep expertise in embedded systems, architectural decision-making, and C++ will drive our technical roadmap and innovation. You will also advance our embedded Linux (Yocto Linux) platform to ensure top quality, performance, and security throughout the product lifecycle.
This is a fully onsite role in Columbus, Indiana with relocation assistance available.
What You'll Do Innovate & Architect:
Design and implement firmware for complex, integrated systems while driving design reviews and best practices. Develop & Document:
Write, review, and document high-quality C++ code; enhance the Embedded Linux platform to meet evolving requirements. Collaborate & Mentor:
Lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and translate business needs into effective technical strategies. Support Lifecycle:
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support product innovation from design through deployment. What You Bring
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 10+ years of hands-on firmware development experience, preferably in heavy equipment or automotive sectors. Strong expertise in C/C++ with demonstrated proficiency in multi-threading, multi-process programming, object-oriented design, and microcontroller development. Experience with embedded Linux systems (Yocto Linux preferred) and integrating wireless protocols (cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth). Hands-on proficiency with hardware interfaces such as CAN, UART, SPI and I2C. Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills.
