The Climate Change Solutions Division seeks a Concessional Finance Consultant to collaborate with stakeholders across the IDB-Group and Latin America and the Caribbean. The role involves providing technical support in climate finance, project structuring, and managing the climate finance project pipeline with major climate change funds. You will be part of the Climate Change Solutions Division (“CSD/CCS”), which advises IDB management and develops policies, strategies, operational guidelines, and programs related to climate change and sustainability. The division also conducts sector research, analytical work, and case studies, supporting the mainstreaming of climate change in IDB operations and regional governments. Responsibilities
Support the origination of concessional finance proposals, including country-specific investment plans, for major providers such as CIF, Adaptation Fund, and others. Assist in preparing annual and semi-annual reports for concessional climate funds. Contribute technical inputs to knowledge products like publications, blogs, and briefs on concessional finance topics. Maintain the Climate Finance Team project pipeline database and prepare management briefings as needed. Support other activities related to concessional climate finance within CSD/CCS. Requirements
Master’s Degree or equivalent in Economics, International Development, or related fields in climate finance. At least 5 years of relevant professional experience working with government agencies, multilateral institutions, or similar, particularly in climate finance projects involving concessional funds. Fluency in both English and Spanish; proficiency in French or Portuguese is a plus. Additional Information
Applicants must be citizens of one of the 48 member countries. Assistance with relocation and visas may be provided. The contract is for 19 months (full-time), with potential extension up to 36 months. Work location options include Washington, D.C., or remote from a country with IDB offices. Benefits and Culture
