Overview
The Clinical Dietitian II will possess strong clinical nutrition expertise in areas such as pediatric nutrition, gastroenterology, obesity management, and nutrition support. The position requires active collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and the education of clinical nutrition interns, medical students, and other healthcare professionals. The Clinical Dietitian II will report to the Director of Clinical Nutrition.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop tailored nutrition plans. Perform medical nutrition therapy interventions including oral nutrition supplements, enteral and parenteral nutrition. Provide nutrition education to patients, families, and staff, ensuring clear communication and understanding. Collaborate with healthcare professionals across departments to improve patient outcomes. Contribute to performance improvement, research, and education initiatives within the institution. Educate and mentor clinical nutrition interns, medical students, residents, and other healthcare staff. Stay updated on current nutrition practices and participate in self-development programs. Provide expert consultation and support on clinical nutrition concerns. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition. Registered Dietitian (RD) credentialed by the Committee on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Licensure as a Dietitian (LDN) within 90 days of hire. Two years of related experience as a Clinical Registered Dietitian, with pediatric experience preferred. Advanced degree or specialty certification (CSP, CNSC, CDE, CLC, CSO, IBCLC) required within 12 months of hire as approved by Director, Clinical Nutrition. Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy principles, especially in pediatric nutrition, gastroenterology, and obesity. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams. Skilled in time management, independent work, and problem-solving. Expertise in nutrition support modalities including oral supplements, enteral, and parenteral nutrition. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and EMR systems. Required Certifications:
Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credentialed. Pennsylvania State Licensure (LDN) within 90 days of hire. Advanced certification (CSP, CNSC, CDE, CLC, CSO, IBCLC) required within 12 months of hire.
