The
Clinical Education Nurse Specialist
is responsible for supporting and facilitating the ongoing educational needs of clinical personnel caring for patients in various developmental stages. Provides clinical expertise, works across disciplines, and supports training, orientation, and competency validation. Maintains knowledge of reimbursement sources, regulations, and accreditation standards. May have direct contact with patients when introducing new products or equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Primary Job Duties
Assists the Nurse Education Manager in assessing, developing, and evaluating educational needs of clinical staff.
Provides ongoing education tailored to patient age and developmental stages.
Coordinates orientation and re-assessment of clinical personnel.
Educates staff on policies, procedures, and use of clinical systems.
Facilitates orientation including curriculum development.
Participates in improving nursing practices organization-wide.
Prepares nurses and non-nurses for mentoring and coaching roles.
Maintains current clinical knowledge through workshops and literature review.
Assists in creating an annual education plan.
Job Specifications
BA/BS in Nursing or higher; licensed in NC/SC; 3+ years hospice experience preferred.
Proficient in clinical software and adult learning principles.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Physical and sensory abilities to perform training and patient assessments.
Potential exposure to hazards typical of healthcare settings.
Full-time, salaried position with flexible hours as needed.
Serves neonatal to geriatric populations.
