ProCare Medical Supply is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented DMEPOS Biller/Collections Coordinator to join our growing team. Position Summary:
The DMEPOS Biller/Collections Coordinator is responsible for managing the billing, claims processing, and collections cycle related to durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS). This role requires a thorough understanding of billing procedures, payer requirements, and collections best practices to ensure timely reimbursement and compliance with all applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit accurate DMEPOS claims to Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial payers in a timely manner.
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable, including follow-up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies.
- Analyze explanation of benefits (EOBs) and electronic remittance advice (ERAs) to identify payment trends and denials.
- Research and appeal denied or underpaid claims as necessary.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations and documentation for claim submission.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and payer representatives to resolve billing inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and organized billing records in accordance with company policy and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate intake and documentation for billing.
- Assist with monthly reporting, audits, and special projects as assigned by the Billing Supervisor.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in DMEPOS billing and collections strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial insurance billing requirements (ESPECIALLY Incontinence, Medical-Managed)
- Familiarity with DME billing software and systems (e.g., Cortex, Brightree, Kareo, or similar platforms).
- Proficient in interpreting EOBs, claim denials, and HCPCS coding.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in medical billing preferred.
