We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Electrical Inspector to join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform field inspections during various stages of construction Read and examine plans and specifications when required Report violations and maintain files/records Perform other related duties as requiredKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgmentEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: State of WI Commercial Electrical Inspector and/or UDC Electrical Inspector license(s) or ability to obtain prior to start date required *WI Commercial Electrical Inspector license can be acquired by exam or by providing proof of current WI Master Electrician license, ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector certification, Master Electrical Inspector certification from IAEI or NFPA* *UDC Electrical Inspector license can be acquired by exam or by providing proof of current WI Journeyman Electrician license, WI Residential Master Electrician license, WI Master Electrician license, or Residential Electrical Inspector certification from IAEI or NFPA* State of WI Commercial Building Inspector, UDC HVAC Inspector and/or UDC Construction Inspector license(s) required *Commercial Building Inspector license can be acquired by exam or by providing proof of one of the below* ICC Building Inspector certification (residential and commercial) ICC Commercial Combination Inspector certification ICC Combination Plans Examiner certification ICC Commercial Building Inspector and Commercial Mechanical Inspector certifications ICC Building Plans Examiner and Mechanical Plans Examiner certifications WI architect registration OR WI Engineer registration *Other combinations of licenses and experience may be accepted* Additional State of WI certification(s) are a plus Experience in municipal code inspections preferred Valid driver's license with a good driving record requiredCOMPENSATION: SAFEbuilt pays competitive wages and has a comprehensive benefit offering.
