Amkor Technology Arizona is seeking a Telecommunication Engineer who will act as the owner and subject matter expert for various telecommunication systems supporting the Amkor Technology Arizona facility. Responsible for advanced troubleshooting, including managing the public address system, facility CCTV system, and supporting telecommunications issues. Own developing documents such as PM job plans, operating procedures, troubleshooting specifications, and training programs, as well as collaborating with our telecommunication technicians and service providers in the field to ensure our telecommunication systems are safe and maintained. This role supports Amkor's new Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) factory/site in Peoria, AZ. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Thoroughly review project drawings and specifications to ensure all requirements are met while regularly visiting construction site to monitor progress and ensure compliance with schedules and quality standards. Prepare for the commissioning of utility equipment, troubleshoot issues that arise during the commissioning process, and ensure smooth operation. Prepare all necessary manuals for handover and systematically organize and deliver the related documents. Conduct training for employees on tasks related to the operating system and enhance practical skills through on-the-job training (OJT). Develop System Documentation including PM Job Plans, Operating Instructions, Out of Control Action Plans and Training. Ensure that the maintenance meets OEM requirements as well as AHJ/Code. Evaluate the effectiveness and quality of Preventative and Corrective Maintenance, identify opportunities for improvement. Identifies opportunities to reduce the overall cost including outsource vs. insource, alternate suppliers, PM Frequency optimization, etc. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures or production impacts due to telecommunication system failures in the facility team. Support a series of emergency broadcast tests during fire inspections and fire drills related to the operation of the public address system. Develop and review telecommunication infrastructure layout plans, including planning, specifications, and cost estimates, construction safety and phased planning, and coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients. Provide training and troubleshooting to telecommunication technicians to ensure safe switching and follow-up work. Ensure that all requirements specified by the equipment system manufacturer are met and that equipment operation, repair, modification, and maintenance comply with environmental protection requirements. Hook-Up and Lay-out - Matrix review of production equipment, preparation of bidding documents, on-site supervision, equipment turn-on, and handover. Expansion Construction - perform all tasks related to planning, design, construction, completion, and various permits. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, computer science, or related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant field. Familiarity with network, hub, tool integration, 24/7 operations, and security monitoring. Previous experience in designing, implementing, managing, vendor management, and project management of large-scale manufacturing IT systems. Well-defined specific knowledge of engineering and construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements related to telecommunications is required. Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently. Must be proficient in applying the principles, practices, processes, design/construction, permitting, and project work-related issues of telecommunication processes while always following all safety policies and procedures. Team building, analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective written, verbal, presentation, and listening communications skills across functional departments and with external customers, contractors, and suppliers. Computer skills including MS Office with the ability to operate corporate email, spreadsheets, word processing, engineering drawing databases at a highly proficient level. Highly proficient with technical writing, discipline-specific design software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools. Willingness and ability to work overtime when needed for business purposes, or to be called-in to work in the event of emergency or business needs. Physical Requirements
May spend extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in awkward body positions which can cause physical discomfort and possibly strain. Must have the ability to safely climb ladders, and work at elevation from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, roofs, or platforms, and the ability to work in confined spaces. Sensory demands might include smells associated with industrial chemicals and exposure to sounds associated with powered tools and industrial equipment. Preferred Qualifications
Preference for candidates with experience in environmental facilities, large-scale plants, and construction site engineering projects in the semiconductor field. Highly desirable to have previous experience in the semiconductor/advanced manufacturing industry. Past experience in managing cleanroom utility equipment, facility optimization, energy-saving planning, and utility operations highly preferred. Preferred experience in legal appointments and licensing related to trade-specific management. Location
This position will be based at the Arizona Tempe and Peoria sites during the construction phase and will transition to Peoria for management during the factory operation phase.
