A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a newSpanish-speaking Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) to join their team in Brooklyn. In this role, the Bilingual CASAC will be responsible for providing alcoholism and substance abuse counseling services in approved work settings. About the Opportunity: Start Date: ASAP Assignment Length: Ongoing (temp to perm) Schedule: Mon to Fri, Tues to Sat, or Sun to Thurs Hours: 8am to 4pm or 10am to 6pm EMR: SigmaCare Responsibilities: The Substance Use Counselor (CASAC / MSW) will: Developand conductgroup individual and family counseling on a scheduled basis to caseload clients/residents Obtain weekly random urine samples according to established protocol Orientclients/residents about program goals, objectives, rules and regulations, clients obligations, clients rights and program operation Provideeducation and information to the client about alcohol and drug abuse Maintainand updatereferral services and resources that may be useful to our client/resident population Prepare legal monthly reports monthly or as needed Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications: 2+ years of Clinical / Case Management experience High School Diploma / GED OASAS Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) certification Bilingual (English and Spanish) Demonstrates appropriate Treatment Planning and Clinical Intervention Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Desired Skills: Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
