Electronic Systems Technical Specialist - Hardware
We are seeking a talented Electronic Systems Technical Specialist – Hardware to join our engineering team supporting Cummins’ business in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will:
- Problem Resolution: Investigate electronic hardware issues, identify root causes, and recommend actions to ensure efficient problem resolution and documentation.
- Process Improvement: Enhance hardware development processes and tools, applying problem-solving techniques and requirements analysis for continuous improvement.
- Design Expertise: Use design methods like worst-case analysis, circuit simulation, DFMEA/PFMEA, and Fault Tree Analysis to develop robust, compliant hardware designs.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with electronic suppliers and deliver prototype hardware to application engineering teams.
- Decision Making: Make decisions on hardware requirements, design, and validation tests to impact cost, functionality, and delivery.
- Mentorship: Review work of less-experienced team members, ensuring quality and fostering growth.
- Leadership: Lead smaller projects or complex components, driving project success and managing ambiguity.
- Knowledge Transfer: Coordinate work among technicians and students, guiding technical direction within the team.
Qualifications include:
- Degree in Engineering or STEM field; Master’s degree may be preferred for some roles.
- Relevant experience as a Senior or Lead Engineer with proven problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
Additional requirements:
- Experience designing printed circuit boards for electrical distribution systems, including low and high voltage circuits.
- Knowledge of BEV systems, battery electrical components, and functions specific to electrical distribution systems.
- Proficiency with Altium, Windchill, Creo Schematics, and Creo Parametric.
- Innovative, self-motivated, and capable of solving complex technical problems while balancing cost and technology readiness.
Compensation: Salary range $97,600 to $146,400, final offer based on qualifications and experience.
