Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer
to lead and develop
real-time, embedded software
for advanced defense applications. What You’ll Do Lead and develop
software solutions for secure, wideband communications. Design, develop, and improve
embedded software in a
Linux environment
using
C/C++ . Analyze and troubleshoot
software systems to ensure reliability and security. Collaborate with cross-functional teams
to develop system architecture, test plans, and technical documentation. Mentor junior engineers
and contribute to a culture of technical excellence. Engage with stakeholders , including customers and subcontractors, to ensure project success. Stay ahead of emerging technologies
in software engineering and secure communications. What You Bring Required: Four-year degree in a relevant technical field, plus 12 years of related experience. Experience developing
real-time embedded software
in
Linux
using
C/C++ . Proven track record in
leading software projects
(preferably in the defense industry). Active DoD
Secret-level clearance
(U.S. citizenship required). Highly Regarded: Experience leading software development teams on
fixed-budget, fixed-schedule contracts . Background in
DoD embedded software projects , including requirement and design documentation. Familiarity with
RF communications, DoD communication waveforms, and Secure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines) . Participation in project reviews such as
PDR, CDR, FDR, and TRR . Bonus Skills: Experience with
network protocols, video processing, or RF hardware/software . Strong understanding of
software-defined networking
and modern
