About Cumberland Hospital: Located in beautiful New Kent, VA, Cumberland Hospital is nestled between Williamsburg and Richmond, just west of the Tidewater Region along coastal Virginia. We are a unique acute care, inpatient specialty hospital with 110 licensed beds, offering treatment for patients aged 2-22 who suffer from chronic illnesses, brain injuries, and neurobehavioral disorders with co-occurring behavioral challenges. Our team includes a diverse group of professionals such as Pediatricians, Family Medicine providers, Psychiatrists, Physiatrists, NPs, Psychologists, Dietitians, and Nurses, all working together to provide comprehensive care.
Position Overview: As a Pediatrician at Cumberland Hospital, you will be an integral part of our healthcare team, working with a variety of medical professionals to treat young patients. The position involves providing inpatient and residential care, including admissions, discharge planning, treatment team meetings, medication management, and daily clinical care. This full-time, Monday-Friday position offers a competitive compensation package, including salary, benefits, and bonus opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care in an acute care, inpatient, and residential treatment setting.
- Participate in treatment planning, including admissions, discharge planning, and medication management.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each patient.
- Supervise clinical staff and work collaboratively to achieve the organization's objectives.
Education & Qualifications:
- MD/DO degree from an accredited program required.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Virginia or eligible to obtain a Virginia Medical license.
- A minimum of five years of training or practice experience.
- Meets all credentialing criteria required by participating physicians.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and a commitment to medical stewardship.
- Experience with or willingness to supervise clinical staff.
- A passion for delivering exceptional care to children and adolescents with chronic illnesses and complex medical conditions.
