Architectural Designer (Washington, DC & Charlotte)
Cunningham | Quill Architects is an award-winning architectural practice based in Washington, DC and Charlotte, NC. and is dedicated to the pursuit of design excellence. Our employees work closely with the Principals and other staff from concept to completion in an open studio format. We encourage personal and professional development at all levels, with on-going continuing education and professional participation in and out of the office.
We are looking for motivated entry-level candidates, with up to 3 years of experience, for the Architectural Designer role in our Washington, DC and Charlotte offices. Designers support our diverse projects which include multi-family and single-family residential, institutional, adaptive reuse and historic preservation, mixed-use commercial, master planning and urban design.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Architecture from NCARB accredited program;
- Motivation to obtain Professional Registration and LEED certification;
- Self-starter with strong conceptual design skills and critical design thinking;
- Strong graphic presentation skills
- Ability to learn building and zoning codes and other professional practice criteria through independent research and in close mentorship with senior level team members;
- Experience with: Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Adobe Suite
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with production and coordination of all phases of design documentation on multiple concurrent projects and project types;
- Seek creative and innovative solutions through design research and studies;
- Assist with the production of graphics and materials for design presentations for internal, client, and regulatory reviews;
- Assist on myriad marketing and business development efforts;
- Interacts and communicates effectively, clearly, and professionally with team members, consultants and clients;
- Actively pursue networking and professional growth opportunities
