Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and good working condition of the school site and materials. Identify potentially unsafe situations and ensure the physical plant and surrounding areas are clean and free of debris.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow directives from the School Leader or supervisor regarding cleaning of the academy facility, including classrooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, athletic facilities, and other indoor or outdoor areas.
- Report safety or health concerns related to the facility to the School Leader and correct unsafe situations when possible to prevent injuries.
- Follow universal precautions and blood-borne pathogen procedures.
- Order or purchase cleaning supplies as needed, ensuring proper documentation and handling of funds.
- Collaborate with staff and coordinate with facility landlords if applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing, and speaking skills to understand instructions and safety information.
- Ability to organize work to meet daily deadlines.
- May require working afternoon or evening shifts based on school needs.
Physical Requirements
- Perform custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
- Lifting up to [specified weight] pounds.
- Bending and twisting frequently during work.
