D1 is an athletic-based group training facility for adults and youth athletes ages 7 and up with a mission of providing the best fitness philosophy and facility to its athletes, empowering them to improve themselves by efficiently and consistently reaching their fitness goals.
The Head Speed and Strength Coach (HSSC) will be responsible for leading the team of local coaches and delivering the BEST workout experience in the industry to our clients. The HSSC will report to and assist the General Manager, ensuring all coaches are Level 1 certified the D1 Way and maintaining quality control standards via consistent auditing and coaching feedback. The Coach is the front line customer experience at D1, demonstrating a passion for training athletes of all ages from 7 years old to adult athletes. Coaches lead training in D1 membership workouts, D1-on-1, small group personal training, and team training. Coaches are Level 1 Certified the D1 Way and maintain a high level of coaching adhering to the latest brand standards and quality control measures. They assist in conducting assessments and goal setting during the FTA process, ensuring athletes are prescribed, motivated, and committed to the proper program to reach their goals. The Coach serves as the main coach for all classes and oversees the coaching schedule, conducting and leading all classes the D1 Way. This requires proper attire, music, loud verbal coaching, understanding/enforcing coaching cues, organization of the group sessions, and tempo and transition of all groups. Coaches train and develop other coaches in the facility through staff meetings, continuing education, and program review. They ensure all new coaches go through the proper process to become a D1 coach and provide feedback to D1 Home Office on programming and success stories. Coaches oversee the maintenance and cleaning of training spaces and equipment, and attend and lead marketing events such as competitions and combines.

- Maximize client retention through best-in-class service: coaching, training, nutrition, and accountability.
- Modify and adapt movements that are best suited for the individual at hand.
- A D1 Coach must be dedicated to training and improving the lives of D1’s members (Scholastic ages 7-18, Adults, and Teams) by:
- Exhibiting passion, expertise, high energy, a positive and motivating attitude, strong character, and over-the-top customer service
- Starting and finishing workouts on time
- Assessing and aligning each member with the proper program
- Building and maintaining relationships with each D1 member
- Coaching group workouts, personal training, and teams
- Delivering accurate, industry-leading educational advice on strength, speed, and nutrition
- Teaching proper form and technique and keeping all our athletes safe
- Has a valid AED/CPR/First Aid certification
- Has at least one valid certification accredited by the NCCA, NASM
- Minimum of 5 years of strength & conditioning-related experience in group, team, or personal training setting.
- Has a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or a related field (preferred).
