Job Opening: Network Engineer Data Center (Contract)
Location : On-site San Francisco, San Ramon, and Sunnyvale (Equinix Data Center)
Type : Contract (Local candidates only)
Local candidates from SFO, San Ramon, Sunnyvale or nearby locations only need to apply.
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team for a contract role supporting on-site infrastructure operations across our Bay Area locations , including the Equinix data center in Sunnyvale . This is a hands-on, infrastructure-focused position , ideal for candidates with strong Cisco and data center experience.
Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in:
- Cisco-based network engineering
- Supporting and managing hosted data centers
- Certifications : CCNA or CCNP (preferred)
Key Skills & Technologies:
- Cisco hardware (Switches, Routers, Wireless, Firewalls)
- Cisco NX-OS (7k/9k), L2/L3 protocols (RSTP, EIGRP, BGP)
- Data center spine-leaf topology (L2/L3 out)
- Network automation with Python , Ansible , or Terraform
- Cisco DNA & DCNM (admin & automation)
- SD-WAN, Cisco ISE, Firepower, ASA, Forescout
- Azure networking (VNET, ExpressRoute), InfoBlox
- Monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace), Forward Network
Desirable:
- Network Access Control
- Security posture assurance
- Configuration drift remediation
- Disaster recovery planning
- ITIL certification/experience preferred
