Role: VIRTUAL DESKTOP ADMINISTRATOR SR Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The End-User-Computing – Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (EUC-VDI) Administrator and Engineer roles provide advanced, innovative patient-centric and business solutions to enhance Hoag’s virtual, physical, remote, cloud, and mobile desktop environments. Responsibilities include testing, planning, systems optimization, monitoring, proactive maintenance, ensuring security, entitlement, and performance compliance, and developing documentation and policies. The role involves cross-functional team collaboration to resolve complex issues, plan projects, and implement solutions. Apply experience with VMware Hypervisor, ControlUp, IGEL UEM, Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, and Windows virtual technologies to support VDI implementations, including large-scale deployments (2000+ desktops) using non-persistent and persistent desktops, and virtual applications. Define Windows desktop image standards and support tools and technologies like AD, Group Policies, Thin Clients, etc., for patching, antivirus, profile management, user experience monitoring, performance improvements, software packaging, and encryption. Provide technical expertise for hardware and software evaluations, installations, and maintenance. Develop methodologies and processes to scale VDI for growth, peak capacity, high availability, remote access, and future expansion. Participate in evaluating new desktop delivery technologies and applications, and handle tasks related to design, installation, configuration, upgrades, testing, documentation, and deployment of new technologies and applications in a VDI environment. Participate in meetings outside normal hours, including evenings and weekends. Support operates 24/7 with shifts across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Flexibility to pick up shifts for deployments, vacations, holidays, or staff shortages is required. Follow system standards, policies, and procedures. Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent work experience with 3+ years of related experience. Experience providing Level II and III desktop engineering support in Windows and remote management, preferably in healthcare. Advanced experience with Xen Desktop, Citrix Cloud, and automation using PowerShell, VBScript, SCCM. Experience with SCCM, AD, Disk Encryption, Patching, Endpoint Security, Device Management, Cloud services, Microsoft 365, FSLogix, UMS, Citrix, Imprivata Unity preferred.
