Overview
This person will provide health and wellness information and advice to students and the campus community on a part-time basis (up to 25 hours per week). They will offer educational programs, promote healthy dining habits, and provide dietary counseling to those with food allergies and/or special dietary needs.
Flexible work schedule within the hours of 8-4:30 PM. Option of adjusting schedule to meet the needs of students and/or the dining service department.
Qualifications
EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related discipline. Required Familiarity with meal pattern requirements in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Preferred LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) License. Required Pennsylvania Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist (LDN.) Required ServSafe Food Handlers Certification. Required Valid and in State Valid Driver's License. Required EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years' experience in one-on-one nutritional assessment and counseling with a focus on disordered eating and food allergies. Required ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Required Familiarity with food allergens and one-on-one nutrition counselling. Required Ability to coordinate workload. Required Neat and clean grooming and hygiene habits. Required Ability to work as part of a team or independently. Required Ability to clearly and comfortably present to large audiences. Required Experience with developing and presenting nutrition education programs. Preferred Familiarity with safety and sanitation procedures. Preferred Familiarity with Cbord/Net Nutrition and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), or the ability to be trained. Preferred Responsibilities
Marketing • In collaboration with the Marketing Assistant develop educational materials, update Dining Service website/social media accounts, and actively promote health and wellness to the campus community. • Participate in Open House, New Student Orientation, and other campus events. Collaborate with unit managers, chefs, and the Marketing Assistant to ensure special event menus are audited and allergens properly identified. Counseling and Education • Work collaboratively with Disability & Access Resources (DAR) to ensure nutrition services are communicated to incoming and current students with special dietary needs. • Develop and present nutrition education programs to student groups, First Year Experience classes, the campus community, the Children's Learning Center, summer camps, and/or Dining Services staff development. • Respond to customer's dietary questions, suggestions, and concerns. Maintain regular communication with students with special dietary needs, as well as act as a liaison between the student, unit managers, and chefs to ensure student(s) dietary needs are met. • Provide health and wellness services to students and the campus community, maintaining confidential and accurate records on all individual counseling sessions. • As a member, support the campus Wellness Committee. Attend meetings and participate in campus-wide health and wellness events. Administrative • In collaboration with the Purchasing Agent, maintain nutritional database on CBORD/Net Nutrition. Ensure that product/ingredient, nutrition, and other information is accurate and coded for appropriate allergens. Conduct food storage audits in the dining units, making recommendations to the management team to avoid cross contact/cross contamination. • Maintain the Food Allergy Research & Education (F.A.R.E) college search website for the department ensuring the information is accurate, and provide suggestions for improvements. • Research legislative rulings that govern any aspect of our services and update direct supervisor. • Support investigations related to allergy concerns or incidents. • Maintain Child Nutrition (CN) labels/recipe books for the Children's Learning Center. Provide childcare menu costing information to director(s) to aid in budget planning. • Attend and participate in Dining Service Leadership meetings. Monitor health trends and communicate information to the Dining Service director(s), unit managers, and/or chefs. Menu Development • Collaboratively support the recipe development process and maintenance of the menu database from product/ingredient research to final recipes publication. • Ensure allergen and trait identification and audit/edit recipes for accuracy and completeness. • Develop nutritionally sound menus for the Children's Learning Center following all federal and state guidelines for meal pattern requirements in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

Based on minimum education and experience qualifications the hourly range is $26.28 - $31.31.
