Job Summary:
The Talent & Enterprise Services Analytics team is looking for a member with strong analytical, technical, and consultative skills. The team is tasked with supporting brand marketing leaders through consultative data-driven projects on key operational and strategic questions.
As a Brand Research and Insights Director, you will partner with stakeholders across the organization in different functions, with a specific focus on brand and marketing, to investigate open-ended brand questions using a variety of research methods, understanding and translating insights into actionable next steps - placing insights within context of complementary research. This individual contributor role specifically will have a large focus on and partnership with the Enterprise Brand Strategy group. You will lead the analysis and the synthetization of data to identify trends and create an actionable story and present insights and recommendations to senior audiences. You will also help interpret vendor and external data and be a strategic thought partner with the client.
Analysis Skills:
- Conducts high complexity analysis for a particular business unit/function
- Design and conduct complex quantitative & qualitative analyses to identify trends in behaviors, create measurement strategies, and identify actionable insights leading to recommendations and solutions.
- Comprehensive understanding of marketing and brand research trends and methodologies
- Knowledge of research methods (including surveys, focus groups, 1x1’s)
- Ability to interpret complex research results, apply them to business issues, and make strategic recommendations for action
- Knowledge of marketing databases and querying tools, and statistical programs
- Ability to synthesize a variety of data inputs, including insights derived from research, operational data and perspective, and distill that into cohesive, action-oriented story for senior leadership
- Advanced communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills
- Stays current in techniques and tools
Project Management:
- Manage complex projects, while providing technical and analytical assessment of issues facing the enterprise brand team.
- Conducts pro-active research planning, provides market intelligence, and identifies market opportunities to achieve company objectives and create competitive advantage
- Lead relationship with research vendors, driving greater insights and challenging insights and recommendations as appropriate
- Lead special projects and assignments from scoping through implementation with limited coaching.
- Develop project plans and timelines to support engagement efforts and assist in the smooth and thorough execution of projects. Deliver work in alignment with plans.
Presentation:
- Lead the development of a compelling narrative through a data-driven process and transform complex data elements into a consumable format for various stakeholders at all levels of the organization including executive leadership.
- Lead discussions with senior leadership at the department or functional level.
- Consistently influences business partners to take action on research insights by providing clear, actionable recommendations and appropriate business context.
Mentorship/Coaching:
- Oversees the work of others not directly reporting to him/her, through goal setting, prioritization, and review/feedback of work product
- Serves as a resource and mentor to less experienced analysts
Qualifications
- Master's degree with minimum 8, typically 10, years experience; Ph.D. helpful given quantitative work they are leading.
- Extensive experience of research on the client-side, not the vendor side
- Proven track record of developing and applying modeling to business problems. Deep knowledge of data sources, tools and business drivers.
- Demonstrated ability to apply consultative mind-set, problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint. Experience in statistical software packages (SAS, PowerBI, Python, Databricks) helpful.
- Must have good planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines as required
