Job Description
Working under the authority of a Practice Leader and/or Managing Director, the Assurance Director, Accounting Advisory & Outsourcing (AAO) will be responsible for managing local office operations and delivering high-value solutions to clients in outsourced Finance & Accounting. The role includes managing engagement teams through all phases of advisory projects, ensuring exceptional client service, and developing new business opportunities. The AAO Director will also oversee project administration, including time entry, contracts, billing, collections, and engagement profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full lifecycle of engagements, providing technical expertise in finance and accounting functions.
- Identify and implement process and technological improvements.
- Conduct discovery meetings, understand client objectives, and design tailored solutions.
- Determine project costs and profitability, advise on technical accounting issues, and review solutions periodically.
- Lead change management and maintain strong client relationships.
- Develop business through strategic planning, proposal management, and cross-selling.
- Foster team development, training, and performance evaluation.
- Support practice management and ensure effective project and financial administration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; MBA or Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, with 6+ years in supervisory roles.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with industry accounting software and BDODrive platform preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and client management.
- Ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and build client relationships.
Additional Information
Salary range: $150,000 - $185,000, based on experience and location. Travel up to 25% required.
