With 31 offices, 1,100+ advisors across Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts, we need a strategic legal leader who understands multi-state real estate operations and regulatory requirements. As General Counsel, you'll be based out of our Corporate headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut with standard in-office hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. You will be our primary legal strategist working directly for the CEO and collaborating with the firm’s executive team and brokerage sales managers. Provide legal advice and representation to the Company on matters affecting operations, including real estate compliance, contract review, employment law, corporate governance, and dispute management. Draft, review, and negotiate legal agreements, policies, and corporate documents meeting state-specific requirements Lead risk assessment, manage disputes and litigation, coordinate with outside counsel when needed Comply with all rules of Sotheby’s International Realty and all applicable federal, state and local laws and administrative rules. Support the executive team in risk management and internal training on legal matters. Support board meetings, filings, and franchise compliance Qualifications JD with bar admission in CT, NY, or MA (multi-state preferred) 5-10 years legal experience in real estate, employment and corporate law Understanding of residential real estate regulations and licensing Contract negotiation and risk management background Business-minded with practical legal solutions The ideal candidate is a business-minded attorney comfortable in fast-paced real estate environments. You bring experience from a law firm practice or in-house real estate counsel. You understand your role is protecting a premier luxury brand while enabling business success.
