For supplemental questions – add the statement below: Experience in planning, organizing, and managing exhibits and event layouts for presentation to the public. Understanding trends in education and exhibits and competitions outside the fair industry. Understanding of fair livestock programs and animal welfare best practices and principles. Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills and excellent customer service is essential.
Management Preferences: Experience in fairs, festivals, or event planning. Working Knowledge of Entry Software (ie. Showorks, Blue Ribbon, etc. Working Knowledge of Website Content Management Systems (CMS)(ie. Drupal). Experience organizing fair competitions. Knowledge of logistics and operational elements of fair, exhibit, competitive, educational, and agricultural programs that educate the public and accomplish the N.C. State Fair's mission. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Suites. Typing ability of 60 words per minute or better. Ability to follow standard operating procedures, to work independently as well as in a team environment. You may qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience, either through years of education or years of directly related experience, or a combination of both. Bachelor's degree in an agricultural field or a field related to the area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in the planning, analysis, or administration of agriculturally related programs in the public or private sectors; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Any employment offer may be less than the maximum of the range due to salary equity with similarly situated employees or the selected candidate's related education and experience.
