Summary:
The Global Director of Supply Chain will work closely with the global executive team and the company’s affiliates to develop and execute an effective sourcing and procurement strategy while managing and supporting a global footprint of factories and suppliers. Critically, this executive is expected to strengthen the procurement organization and its capabilities to become an indispensable business partner on innovation and cost initiatives. The Director will develop long-term sourcing strategies and actionable steps to improve operational performance while ensuring best purchasing value and competitive advantage through the procurement of capital, direct materials, and services to support CLARK’s business worldwide.
Essential Functions:
Develops sources for procuring supplies, services, and equipment by attending demonstrations, contacting vendors, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies and trade fairs.
Decides on the supply and distribution methods by tracking the efficiencies of each delivery mode, e.g., road, air, and sea.
Manages returns to suppliers for rejected materials by assuring these rejected materials are up to standard through rejection reasons.
Heads the supply chain department by ensuring all subordinates are in line and performing according to the department's mandate.
Manages a group of supply chain assistants and managers by monitoring if they organize and carry out supply chain tasks as assigned.
Manages compliance with occupational health and safety regulations by setting safety checks.
Procures quality items by ensuring all purchases are made according to the agreed specifications.
Grows the supplier database by creating alliances with distributors.
The successful candidate will possess proven experience in global category management in organizations going through high growth periods. The role will be a broad-based executive leader who possesses a strong combination of technical savvy and strategic skills. Specific experience in managing complex electronics products with a high SKU count will be key to success in this role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate key functional competencies in procurement strategy development, partnering with Advanced Engineering & Product Management, SIOP, and logistics in a fast-paced environment.
This role will be a leader who has the technical expertise and credibility to operate in a fast-paced and highly demanding environment where they will devise and implement long-term commercial category strategies aligned with product roadmaps. The leader will:
Qualifications & Requirements:
BSc/BA in Business Administration, Logistics, or relevant field
Proven experience as a Supply Chain Manager, Logistics Coordinator, or similar role
Experience in data mining, analysis, and reporting
Proficient with supply chain and inventory management systems
Understanding of forecasting and risk management
Proficient in MS Office and working knowledge of relevant software (e.g., ERP)
Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
Certification in Supply Chain Management (CSCP, CPIM, etc.) is a plus
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Environmental & Physical Conditions:
The incumbent is in an office environment with regulated heating and cooling. Work is performed using a computer and monitor, as well as basic office equipment. The incumbent may be exposed to a wide range of conditions if required to travel outside the office. This would include visiting a manufacturing location, the engineering lab area, a customer site, CLARK Warehouses, etc. The incumbent must be able to be mobile in various environments.
