Director of Dining Experience
Wichita, KS (hybrid with 50% travel)
$130-155k/year plus 25% bonus & relocation, car/cell phone allowance
The Director of Dining Experience is responsible for supporting culinary efforts for multiple communities across the country building upon our Gold Leaf Dining standards. You will direct all culinary work through the Chefs and/or Culinary Services Coordinators at each community. You will also be responsible for providing training, education, and strategic coaching for Chefs/CSCs.
Some of the responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide leadership to Chefs/CSCs to include training and support of new associates
- Continually evaluate current services and devise plans to improve on the quality and consistency of culinary programming, associate education and development, and vendor relationship management
- Work with community leadership to ensure front of house and kitchen are exceeding customers’ and company’s standards
- Work with executive leadership to develop and execute initiatives to meet company goals and standards and all state and national regulatory requirements
- Perform site visits to provide training, guidance, and hands on application as needed on executing Legend programs and policies
- Ensure compliance with all local, federal, and company standards and guidelines when applicable
- Review and determine best practices with regard to external partnerships, contracts, and budgets of culinary projects and resources
- Coordinate culinary reviews at residences in coordination with Chefs/CSCs
Work Experience or Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years prior experience in a food-service leadership position
- Previous experience in a culinary role overseeing services in a senior living, hospitality, multi-family, or similar environment preferred
- Experience with menu cost-planning and budgetary guidelines for group purchasing vendors
- Understanding of dietary requirements and best practices for residents of our different product lines
- Previous leadership experience in the Senior Living or Healthcare industry is preferred
- Strong attention to detail, ability to anticipate needs, follow-through and ownership on assignments
- Ability to travel, occasionally extensively (75%+), including extended periods of driving and overnight stays
- High School diploma or GED required
- Formal Culinary education or degree in related food service management preferred
